County Positions (Non-Civil Service)
The Wayne County Commissioners will accept unsolicited employment applications at the Wayne County Commissioners Office, 3rd Floor, Wayne County Courthouse. These applications will be held for 3 months only. Applications for Corrections Officers will be forwarded directly to the Warden for his file. Applications for Deputy Sheriff will be forwarded directly to the Sheriff for his file.
Available positions will be posted on-line on the County Website, under Employment Opportunities; some positions may be advertised in the Wayne Independent. Once an opening is posted, unsolicited applications will be reviewed and may be pulled for consideration depending on content of application. Positions requiring Civil Service listing must follow those specific guidelines.
Current county employees are eligible to apply for any available non-civil service openings that may be posted by submitting a letter of interest. If a current county employee is successful in being selected for the open position there may be salary adjustments necessary, depending on the position transferring from and to, as well as other employment regulations covering the position.

Wayne County Correctional Facility Nursing Staff
The Wayne County Correctional Facility is
looking for 1 full-time as well as part-time nursing staff. A minimum of
a LPN certificate is required. Strong nursing skills, ability to work in
a fast paced environment. Full-time position is primarily 12 p.m. to 8
p.m. with some weekends required, the part-time position hours may vary.
Fulltime salary is $ 32,085.49/37.5 hours per week. Part-time rate is $ 15.75.

911 Dispatch Trainees
Wayne County 911 is seeking qualified applicants for Dispatch trainees at the 911 Communications Center. Applicants must possess good communication skills, be organized and professional in demeanor. A knowledge of emergency medicine and county geography is a plus. Part Time Correctional Officers
Wayne County Correctional Facility is accepting applications for Part Time Correctional Officers. The Wayne County Correctional Facility is located at 44 Mid-Wayne Drive, which is off of Route 6, in Texas Twp, PA. This Correctional Facility houses both Male and Female offenders in various housing units. Job duties include the care, custody, and control of incarcerated offenders. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and posses a valid driver’s license. All applicants must complete and pass a basic knowledge exam, criminal history record check and urinalysis drug screen prior to employment.
