County Positions (Non-Civil Service)

The Wayne County Commissioners will accept unsolicited employment applications at the Wayne County Commissioners Office, 3rd Floor, Wayne County Courthouse. These applications will be held for 3 months only. Applications for Corrections Officers will be forwarded directly to the Warden for his file. Applications for Deputy Sheriff will be forwarded directly to the Sheriff for his file.
Available positions will be posted on-line on the County Website, under Employment Opportunities; some positions may be advertised in the Wayne Independent. Once an opening is posted, unsolicited applications will be reviewed and may be pulled for consideration depending on content of application. Positions requiring Civil Service listing must follow those specific guidelines.

Current county employees are eligible to apply for any available non-civil service openings that may be posted by submitting a letter of interest. If a current county employee is successful in being selected for the open position there may be salary adjustments necessary, depending on the position transferring from and to, as well as other employment regulations covering the position.

COURTHOUSE POSITIONS

Data Collector

Part Time Correctional Officers

Wayne County Correctional Facility is accepting applications for Part Time Correctional Officers. The Wayne County Correctional Facility is located at 44 Mid-Wayne Drive, which is off of Route 6, in Texas Twp, PA. This Correctional Facility houses both Male and Female offenders in various housing units. Job duties include the care, custody, and control of incarcerated offenders. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and posses a valid driver’s license. All applicants must complete and pass a basic knowledge exam, criminal history record check and urinalysis drug screen prior to employment. Applications may be obtained at the Wayne County Correctional Facility, or the Wayne County Courthouse. CIVIL SERVICE POSITIONS

WAYNE COUNTY OFFICE OF HUMAN SERVICES CIVIL SERVICE

 Wayne County Office of Human Services is seeking applicants to take civil service tests for potential Wayne County Human Services job openings.

 Wayne County Aging, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Behavioral and Developmental Programs/Early Intervention are seeking full time Caseworkers.  Minimum requirement is a Bachelors degree with 12 credits in Social Sciences or 12 credits and 3.5 years of experience in a casework like position. Written test may be taken at the Career Link in Scranton.

 Wayne County Transportation is seeking part time Van Drivers working approximately 3 days per week.   NO written test, score is based on experience and training listed on the civil service application and supplement.
